Alan King hopes Invictus can emulate Voy Por Ustedes after his victory at Plumpton on Monday set up a possible tilt at a Cheltenham Festival bonus.
A total of STG60,000 ($A91,968) is on offer for any horse who can win at Plumpton and then follow up at Prestbury Park in March.
King was the last trainer to achieve the feat with subsequent Arkle winner Voy Por Ustedes during the 2005/06 campaign.
Invictus maintained his unbeaten record over fences with an impressive success on Monday, beating solid Irish yardstick Gift of Dgab by 10 lengths.
“The bonus is certainly an option, but we’ll have to see what the handicapper does and plan where we go next with him,” King said.
“His work is a whole lot better this year. We were delighted with him at Hereford and obviously delighted with him yesterday. He seems to be on the up at the moment.
“I think the Irish horse ran off a mark off 149 yesterday so you couldn’t have asked for any more. He put it to bed very quickly on the bottom bend.
“We’ll try and find a race over the Festive period, possibly the Dipper at Cheltenham on New Year’s Day,” he told At The Races.
